Chat face-to-face with webcam chat

Chatting on eBuddy is great for keeping in touch and sharing your thoughts. However, sometimes you want to see who you are chatting with and see their reactions. With webcam chat on eBuddy you can do just that.

Setup your webcam, login to eBuddy and you will be able to talk to your friends and family like you do in real life. See their face, hear their voice and share everything instantly. Chatting just got more personal and fun!

What do I need?

To use the eBuddy webcam chat, you will need:

• A working webcam (with or without microphone)
• Adobe Flash player version 9.0.115 or higher.
  • If you don't know what version of Flash you have installed you can visit the Adobe's player version test.
  • To install the latest version, visit the Flash player homepage.
• An eBuddy ID
  • eBuddy ID is your passport for easy access to eBuddy for both web and mobile. It's free and will give you access to extra eBuddy features. Get it here.

Note:
Your buddy also needs a webcam and Adobe Flash player version 9.0.115 or higher. He/she does not need an eBuddy ID.

How do I invite a buddy for a webcam session?

It's very easy to start a webcam chat with your buddy. After creating an eBuddy ID, here is how to get started:

• Login with your eBuddy ID.
• In the contact list screen, click once on the buddy you want to start the webcam session with. This will open the contact options:

  In the chat screen, you see the Webcam button above the message editor (field where you type your messages):
  
  
  
• Click on the Webcam button to invite this buddy. A popup window will open with the webcam session.
  
  
  
• When your buddy accepts the invitation, the webcam session will start.

Having problems using webcam chat?

Try this if webcam chat does not work for you:

• Get the newest Flash version:
  
  Go to the Flash Player homepage to download the latest version.
• Turn off your popup blocker:
  
  If your webcam popup window does not open, turn off your popup blocker for the ebuddy.com domain. Most browsers (like Internet Explorer) and toolbars (like the Yahoo! or Google toolbar) have popup blockers. If you don't know how to turn them off, send an email to feedback@ebuddy.com.
• If the webcam session does not start after the window opens:
  
  
  • Check if your buddy has accepted the webcam invitation.
  • If your buddy has accepted the invitation, check if your buddy has a working webcam and Adobe Flash player version 9.0.115 or higher.
